In this modern day and age many people feel stressed and overworked It often feels like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done The stress and tiredness make people unhappy impatient and frustrated The most important part is that it can affect people's health People have tried various methods to help cope with stress and one of the most effective method to deal with stress is known to be meditation All throughout history Buddhist monks and the eastern religion have been performing meditation but only recently people around the world started to try it Meditation is a practice that someone may train their mind to be in a state of consciousness that benefits their mind and body The main effects of meditation on people are reducing stress and improves health quality The first main effect is improving health quality People have been researching on the effects of meditation on health for over thirty years and have found that it has compelling benefits

Thus over the last few years some researchers have been invited by doctors to instruct them on the scientific basis of mind body medicine and meditation in prevention and treatment of diseases These are the diseases that meditation cured First disease is Insomnia One of the most common diseases in modern age that people overthink about problems Cronic insomnia can be cured by mindful meditation According to a study conducted by the University of Minnesota patients who were given mindfulness training for more than three months have shown a reduction in the time they needed to get sleepy by 8 9 minutes Therefore meditation has enough evidence to be counted as a viable treatment for chronic insomnia Another disease that can be cured by meditation is pain It can be reduced by training mindfulness meditation for four days Results from a study at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where people were exposed to experimental pain shows that meditation reduced pain unpleasantness by fifty seven percent and pain intensity by fort percent Also meditation can work by affecting the involuntary nervous system

Also meditation can work by affecting the involuntary nervous system which controls many organs and muscles regulating functions such as heartbeat sweating breathing and digestion It consists of the sympathetic nervous system which prepares our body in cases of fight or flight situations where heart and breathing fastens and blood vessels shrink making the blood flow faster and the parasympathetic nervous system which causes the heart and breathing to decelerates and blood vessels to widen calming the blood flow Meditation is thought to reduce activity in the sympathetic nervous system and increase activity in the parasympathetic system The second main effect is reducing the stress Meditation may fundamentally changes people's self perception of life and sense of suffering It gives them feeling of peace and relief from stress Therefore people can benefit both their emotional well being and their health Meditation can reduce effects of symptoms related with certain mental conditions Mindfulness achieved through meditation is so powerful that it can rival medication at preventing relapse in people with depression

A report in the Harvard Mental Health Letter of a study involving 160 adults who had experienced at least two episodes of major depression found meditation to be one of the most successful ways of dealing with depression In the beginning of the study the patients were told to take antidepressants and after eight months fifty three percent of them were still in remission and wanted to advance to the second phase where they either continued with antidepressants at a lower dose or had mindfulness based meditation therapy which cured another sixty two percent compared to fifty four percent of the patients In conclusion meditation has numerous effects on lifes on people such as in dangerous situations social life or work life problems It can help about overcoming these problems without using medicines that leaves its mark on mind References According to a study conducted by the University of Minnesota patients who were given mindfulness training for more than three months have shown a reduction in the time they needed to get sleepy by 8 9 minutes Therefore meditation has enough evidence to be counted as a viable treatment for chronic insomnia http www independent co uk life style health and families features it’s time for your meditation 2281577 html Results from a study at Wake Forest University School of Medicine where people were exposed to experimental pain shows that meditation reduced pain unpleasantness by fifty seven percent and pain intensity by fort percent http www independent co uk life style health and families features its time for your meditation 2281577 html
