Franz Schubert had written the Impromptus in 1827 and it was published in two sets of four. The first set was published during his lifetime however the second one was published presently after he diagnosed as typhoid fever and death in 1828. Impromptus appeared as a form of music early in the romantic movement. In this sense, the first known usage of the word Impromptus was in 1817 and was suggested by his publisher Haslinger. It had described the piano composition of Czech composer JanVáclav Voříšek Voříšek s Impromptu compositions may have a significant effect on Schubert’s own contribution to this type, like Chopin was inspired by John Field’s Nocturne. The op 90 no 1 and 2 occurred and printed by December 1827 but were not received as passionately as Haslinger had hoped and thus the remaining works failed unpublished. The op 90 no 3 and 4 were finally published only in 1857 by Haslinger’s son who fit to transpose no 3 from G flat major to G major in order to not scare amateur pianists with too many flats.

Music in Films to create a specific mood or feeling.

Since the beginning of the film, music has been used to emphasize what is happening or to create a specific mood or feeling. This started first with a silent film with a pianist or orchestra which then lead into the soundtracks and scores we have for films today. Do films with specially composed music work better than films with pre-existing music. This can be viewed in many ways. Films with specially composed music may be seen to capture what is happening in the film a lot better, than films with pre-existing music but pre-existing music films may be seen to have a better periodic sense to them. This is something I am going to discuss and look at within my essay. Films started off as being silent which was due to limitations in technology. Usually, a pianist or orchestra in larger city cinemas would play along with the film adding music live. This music would be played from a book under the section which best fits the genre of the film or the scene happening. This music would either be specially composed for the scene genre or would be a pre-existing piece of music, which would fit what was happening on the screen. Mervyn Cooke stated that they believe that film music can be traced back to the early 1890s. in Paris In 1890 Paris Pantomimes Lumineuses by Émile Reynaud said to be the first animated films were shown in 1892 and featured specially composed music by Gaston Paulin Pantomimes Lumineuses features an animation titled Pauvre Pierrot translated as Poor Pierrot.

Joseph Turrin has made incredible contributions to the brass and trumpet repertoire

Joseph Turrins Arabesque 1990. Joseph Turrin has made incredible contributions to the brass and trumpet repertoire. He has written works for brass band, solo trumpet duets for trombone and trumpet as well as large works for wind ensemble. Many of his solo trumpet works were written for and recorded by one of the most famous trumpet players in the United States Philip Smith. Arabesque is an exciting and challenging piece for two trumpets and piano. Wide leaps and fast passages give the piece its showy quality. The trumpets play in a call and response style. This piece can also be played with concert band Henry Purcells Sonata for Trumpet and Strings in D Major 1659 1695. Henry Purcell was an English composer most well known for his opera Dido and Aeneas. Although he is most known for his operas he also wrote for small chamber ensembles as well as instrumental solos. Like most sonatas at this time, this piece features three movements 1 Allegro, II Adagio, III Allegro. In most early sonatas with the trumpet, the second movement usually omits the trumpet because of the minor key. The trumpet at the time was not able to play chromatic pitches that were used in the minor ke.
