336INTRODUCTION This study focuses on a new innovative idea on building design technique so that there would be the reduction in environmental impact for those new buildings and also the technology would be with low or zero carbon THE REASON OF CHOOSING THE TOPIC In 2008 there is the climate change act has been introduced in United Kingdom and in which it has been clearly mentioned that the buildings for long term usage would be within the framework which can tackle the climate change There is also a target of reduction of carbon emission by 34 within 2020 in case of building and construction field The strategy thus is to set out and the Carbon Plan has been published in December 2011 Pan Maxey 2009 In reality it is thus possible to comply with the zero carbon requirements simply by adopting the low carbon technologies along with SBEM methodology rather by creating the energy efficient fabric as per the developer's perspective which might be cheaper as well in the short term scenario
This is also needed to keep in mind that the present fabric system will not able to minimise the whole life cost whereas there are number options can be adopted under zero carbon standard which is basically depending on assessing the carbon compliance with existing techniques that will compare with the relative performance for the proposed building Forster et al 2015 It is also noted that in case of zero carbon homes with the unregulated energy like the appliances has been expected to exclude from the calculations of emissions Fernandez 2006 AIM AND OBJECTIVES The objectives or the aim of this report is to investigate the key areas or the facility of using the zero carbon regulated energy technology through SBEM Simplified Building Energy Model methodology for the construction of buildings This study is thus revealed that there is the low usage of carbon while using the SBEM methodology in case of building the house LITERATURE REVIEW In 2007 there is a set out target for new homes with the idea of building a Greener Future so that from 2016 onwards there will be new home with zero carbon technology This aim is thus further enhanced and it has been found that there is a 25 percent of improvement with 2006 standards in 2010 In early 2009 there is a concept of Heat and Energy Saving Strategy and that is set out for retrofitting for both non domestic or domestic buildings According to the central government of United Kingdom from 2019 onwards all the non domestic buildings will also build up with zero carbon emission Designing Buildings Ltd 2017 Therefore it has been observed that the zero carbon standards with new non domestic buildings are also adopting the approach which will be consistent as it is possible in case of arrangements with the zero carbon homes It is also important for any planners enforcement agencies builders building control officers are also generally not forced for working with two different systems It is thus considered that zero carbon is an essential with the essential of design as well as the point of build standard and that is assessed at the time of sign off the building
Neto et al 2006 In this system the following specifications are generally followed while designing 1 Usage of passive energy like solar energy is the main source of energy in those buildings 2 While constructing it is keep in mind the lowest usage of water 3 To improve the indoor air quality it is necessary to use the non toxic materials as well as the products that will reduce the rate of asthma allergy or any sick building syndrome 4 The ventilation system is followed with great importance for controlling the humidity and allow as many as fresh airs for cool breathing Communities and Local Government 2009 CONCLUSION From the above discussion it has been concluded that the zero carbon techniques would be the main criteria of building any domestic or non domestic building in all over the world in near future because of its great significance where the human being can live without any fear of pollution
