Common questions
- What counts as a check?
- One check is one document you submit, up to your plan's word limit (2,500 on Free, 25,000 on Pro, 50,000 on Premium). Web search costs are bundled — no per-query surprises.
- How does the free trial work?
- New accounts get 3 Premium-level checks to use in the first 14 days — no card required. When the credits or the 14 days run out, you stay on the Free plan (3 checks a month) unless you upgrade.
- Can I change or cancel my plan?
- Yes, any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated credit; cancellations keep your plan active until the end of the billing period, then drop you to Free. Manage everything from Settings → Billing.
- Is the open-source engine really the same as the cloud one?
- Yes — same code, same algorithms. The hosted plans add the corpus index (Common Crawl, academic databases, Live Web) and conveniences like branded reports. You can always self-host the Apache 2.0 engine and compose against your own corpus locally.
- Do you train AI on customer documents?
- No. Submitted documents are never used to train models or shared between accounts. Retention is configurable, and EU data residency is available on request.
Not sure which tier?
Run the open-source engine against your own corpus first. Upgrade when you need the cloud index or team features. We'll never ask for a card to start.
