How to stop human degradation globally. Contrary to what we may be tempted to think based on media reports humanity has numerous good things going for it. On the other hand, it is true that there is a degradation to be found in various aspects of our mentality, it would be dishonest not to acknowledge it. While nobody has a definite solution that would change us for the better, it is important that we take some simple measures into consideration. Everyone can improve as a person over time helping build a better world as a result. Any small contribution becomes a force to be reckoned with in numbers. Here are a few things that we should do in order to improve the world. 1 Switch the focus from the individual to our society. It has been a long habit for children to be taught an individualistic approach when it comes to life no matter how much importance is given to social activities when it comes to goals to follow, they are almost always focused on their own well being. People are taught from a young age that success means acquiring big personal gains be it financial romantic or professional. Children are encouraged to have a competitive sense one that can only be fed by doing better than others in life. This shifts the worldview to default selfishness as many begin to place themselves at the center of the universe. What we should train instead is the ability to think of others.
Children should know from a young age that they have social responsibilities that others are just as valuable as them. Instead of encouraging mentalities such as it doesn't affect me so it's not my concern when it comes to other people's problems we could begin teaching the moral obligations they have to help others whenever it is possible. This should start early during education with parents and schools alike placing greater emphasis on social responsibility and less on individualism. Needless to say, there is a balance to be found as a healthy amount of competitiveness is needed for people to be motivated. But as it stands the balance weighs too much in favor of individual goals. 2 Become more involved in social work. Each of us has the chance to make a difference in people's lives whether it is locally or worldwide. Technology makes it easier than it has ever been to find causes that we believe in and it's just as easy to support them the best we can. Any disposable sum that may not mean much to you can be invaluable to others, after all, it adds up to the help that others have provided. Becoming more involved in social work is a crucial method of helping improve the world. 3 Use technology to do good.
Luckily this happens more and more these days. Having access to the Internet gives us an easy way of making our voices heard. We can now help others on the other side of the world in just a few seconds. Campaigns for our beliefs can easily run and taken into consideration as social media can help a message spread, unlike anything that we've ever had before. Besides the regular measures such as donating signing petitions or expressing support for a cause in other ways we can also learn to use our own skills and interests to provide value for others. Be it doing relevant art or writing informative articles on issues that we may have experience with you can easily build the habit of helping those around you using technology. 4 Educate children on social issues from an early age. Nobody says you need to expose children to the darkest side of life from an early age but there are some important values that can be taught from an early age. One of the most common issues would be poverty teach them to appreciate what they have and make them aware that not many are as lucky. Encourage them to give away old toys to those coming from a poorer background teach them to put give great importance to other people's needs and become socially responsible in any way they can. Building this habit from an early age will increase the chances of them growing into remarkable adults. As you can see putting the world on a better path is something that we can all contribute to. These may seem small things but like previously mentioned they all add. Playing your part in it will give you a sense of fulfillment that is well deserved. While the world may seem a negative place at times the power of change is well within us. There is plenty of good to be found in the world already yet we can expand it significantly.
