The aim of education is the knowledge not of facts but of values After an inspiring four year course in Petroleum Mining Engineering I would like to use this knowledge to do my Masters in Science As my undergraduate degree was theoretical in nature I want to indulge myself in research Studying masters at your revered university would give me the edge in technology and the practical experience and information I need to succeed Today man is culminating with technology and science A master's degree would be of prime importance with hands on experience in real time applications accompanied by in depth knowledge of the subject I got myself admitted to Shahjalal University Science and Technology one of the reputed institutions in my country through an entrance exam and by merit I took Petroleum Mining Engineering as my major as it offered me many choices of specialization During these 4 years I learned Subjects including Mathematics Calculus Numerical Analysis C Programming Fluid Dynamics Physical Chemistry Heat Transfer Thermodynamics etc This undergraduate program has given me a strong foundation and has brought about considerable maturity in my outlook Reflecting on the days during my undergraduate 

I would like to put emphasize on my academic record I truly believe in the saying that knowledge is not what one is able to retain and reproduce on a sheet of paper it is grasping of the complexities of the topic and founding a strong technical base that matters At the start of my undergraduate studies I did not focus as I wanted I did not score well in my exams I was lagging behind After completing my second year second semester I started persevering more I allocated much of my time to studies I was so low in confidence that I never thought that I would be able to compete at the top But my perseverance paid off in my final year when I was among the top 3 students and eventually I finished at 8th position in my department Not only the results of my exams my final year project was applauded by the head of the department and my supervisor He also regarded me highly after seeing my performance My first introduction to serious research was in final year of my undergraduate course when I succeeded to complete the project titled Key Reservoir Parameters Estimation Using Perforation Inflow Test Analysis of Sylhet Gas Fields Limited Well Number Sylhet 7 The objective of this test was to estimate initial pressure permeability and skin of a reservoir The software called FEKETE F A S T WellTestTM was used in this analysis It is a non conventional well testing method which is short environment friendly and less costly Right from my High school days I had a strong inclination to be a Chemical Engineer My Interest grew further when I went to obtain a training in Training Institute of Chemical Industries on Process Unit Operation Process Control Technique for 4 weeks where I accumulated a great deal of intense laboratory experience 

The experience and the knowledge I gathered there was instrumental and achieved an A grade in the training final exam After that I started watching videos and reading articles related to the chemical industry My country has advanced in technology over the past several eras yet there is still considerable room for improvement in its chemical engineering field To contribute to the advancement and modernization of this field I hope to study in your graduate program of Chemical Engineering gaining a new scientific understanding with professional knowledge and expertise in this field Chemical engineering encompasses a variety of fields including biological chemistry sustainable and clean energy materials and environmental management I am eagerly waiting to learn advanced knowledge and experience the world class laboratory facilities in these areas Apart from education I am a very sports loving person From childhood I was associated with cricket football volleyball etc My inclination towards outdoor sports enabled me with great opportunities I played in school cricket team for 3 years I had the chance of playing school cricket at the national level when we won the divisional cricket tournament After that I started playing 1st division cricket league When I was studying in college I was a part of a great football team which won the inter college tournament Throughout my undergraduate studies I was involved in sports I participated in several cricket and football tournaments and became champion in few of them The most memorable one was when we won the inter department football league I also had the opportunity to lead a young cricket team in my school Although I am a fan of outdoor games I love indoor games as well Whenever I have free time a play pool snooker etc I love reading books watching documentaries I love to read a lot of books and journals Besides giving me a fair idea of the subject this also gives me an opportunity to keep abreast of the latest developments and technology My favorites are the SPE publications and journals RICE publications and journals The Economist etc I am fully aware of the kind of dedication perseverance and steadfastness a graduate program demands I believe that I have the aptitude and determination to step on this exciting path I would like to finish by saying that I am fully aware that a career in Research and academics requires a high level of intelligence unwavering devotion and a lot of sacrifices I am confident that I would be an asset to your renowned University and therefore I appeal to the Graduate Admissions Committee to consider me for admission with financial aid Finally I look forward to a long and mutually valuable relationship with the University
