Macbeth arrives and Lady Macbeth says that she will take control of the planning for Duncan s visit and for his murder While everyone was asleep Macbeth grabbed a dagger and killed the King After the murder he became very paranoid In act 2 scene 2 he says Didst thou not hear a noise Line 19 Methought I heard a voice cry sleep no more Macbeth does murder sleep the innocent sleep sleep that knits up the raveled sleeve of care the death of each day s life Sore labors bath balm of hurt minds great natures second course chief nourisher in life s feast Lines 47 52 After Macduff discovers that the king is dead he and Lennox come out of the bedroom and there s a crowd of people standing there and mourning the death of their king Malcolm and Donalbain arrive on scene and they are told that their father has been killed most likely by his chamberlains who were found with bloody daggers Macbeth declares that in his fit of rage he has killed the chamberlains Macduff seems suspicious of this new death which Macbeth explains himself by saying he was so furious at Duncan s death was so powerful that he could not contain himself from killing them Lady Macbeth suddenly faints and both Macduff and Banquo call for someone to attend to her Malcolm and Donalbain say to each other that they are not safe They thought that whoever murdered their father will probably try to murder them next Lady Macbeth is taken away while Banquo and Macbeth gather the lords to meet and discuss the murder Duncan s sons decide to flee the court Malcolm announces that he will leave and go south to England and Donalbain will rush to Ireland Macduff tells Ross that Macbeth has been confirmed king by the other lords and that he rides to Scone to be crowned King
After he had been crowned king Macduff had left the country and gone to England He was furious that Macduff had left the country and not attended his coronation so he decided that Macduff was a traitor and took it out on his family by having his wife and family murdered This outraged Macduff and he had Malcom come down to England so they could group up and fight against Macbeth Macduff finds Macbeth and announces that he is not strictly speaking a man born of women having been ripped prematurely from his mother s womb Act 5 Scene 8 Lines18 20 he is then afraid to fight He only battles because MacDuff threatens to capture him and display him as a public display Macbeth is defeated in the fight and is killed by MacDuff MacDuff then cuts off his head and brings it to Malcolm Malcolm is now the King of Scotland Macbeth was self-deceived after hearing the witches prophecy because the witches never said how he would become king he merely decided himself how he was going to become king which happened to be killing his way to the top spot The witches didn t deceive him he was self-deceived because he was so anxious to become king
