Essay Example on Study on relationship between supply chain integration Just in Time and Logistics performance in Malaysia

Introduction. The purpose of this report is to study the relationship between supply chain integration Just in Time and Logistics performance in Malaysia, especially on industry automotive. We are required to related our Assignment 1 with our Project assignment title Just in time. Through this we able to understand how these few task to impact on logistic performance. The article was using the questionnaire to do survey in order to collect the data for analysis. Through this survey they get know mostly responden considered used supply chain integration for business operation. Critique. The Author’s Conclusions and Propositions. Based on the article the relationship between supply chain integration just in time and logistics performance a suppliers perspective on the automotive industry in Malaysia. We all have read all the pages of the article then we are agree with this article. It is because the article are explain about the relationship between SCI JIT and Logistics performance in the automotive industries in Malaysia. Malaysia have a lot of automotive industries like Proton, Perodua, Honda, Toyota and so on so integration of supply chain in the company is the most important. The supply chain integration means a close alignment and coordination within a supply chain often with the use of shared management information systems.
Figure 1 the relationship between supply chain integration just in time and logistic performance. The figure 1 shows that the relationships supply chain integration just in time and logistic performance based on the number had given shows all the relations and the dependent and independent all of them. H1 Each paired dimension supply chain integration. JIT purchasing JIT manufacturing and logistics performance is significantly correlated. H2 Supply chain integration directly influences JIT purchasing. H3 Supply chain integration directly influences JIT manufacturing. H4 Supply chain integration directly influences logistics performance. H5 JIT purchasing directly influences JIT manufacturing. H6 JIT purchasing directly influences logistics performance. H7 JIT manufacturing directly influences logistics performance. Without a good supply chain integrations, the production of the other will not be running smoothly. The supply chain integration will lead the company to produce a product, also the Just in time and the logistics cannot running too 3 0. Key Lesson Learned Based on the article that had been the review the key lesson that had been getting by our understanding are the waste management for the just in time system is the most suitable in the implement, in the all the company. All we know that just at times is the production it will produce when they have customer demand. They only make a product when the customer needed, how many customers need It can decrease the waste of the raw material and the product. The waste of the raw material will affect of the profit it is because the companies will face of the raw material that had been wasted and the profit will decrease because the company need to manage the waste maybe the company will remove waste which will affect the company's profits.
A supply chain is made up of all parties involved in fulfilling a purchase including raw materials, manufacturing the product, transporting completed items and supporting services. Supply chain refers to all inputs required to produce a product and fulfill a purchase Woods 2008. Which mean the supply chain integration is how everyone in the company and its trading partners work in sync to achieve the same business objectives via the integrated business process and information sharing they will cooperate with each other in achieving their goals and objectives. Every organization and supplier need to have a good relationship and believe that when there is a demand from the factory suppliers can supply them the desired materials in a timely manner. The first way to implement JIT is to have a good relationship with suppliers' customers and stakeholders to reduce the waste of time. JIT seeks to reduce waiting time during the production process. Thus the cost of inventory can not only be minimized but also the time for withdrawal can also be reduced. The JIT concept does not say about standardization or management way but it really focuses on zero inventory. The relationship between the supply integration just in time and logistic performance is the time of the production, all we know that the good of the supply chain integration will effect of the production of the automotive. Just in time is produce at the right time and arrives at the right place. So it will affect of the logistic performance if the supply chain integration is not good in managing, it will affect of the supply the raw material so the production of the product cannot be produced because of there are not raw material. Just in time was initially develop in japan is transferable to others environment but it can also impose changes in operating produces, that affect others functions like logistics. Logistic function goals address cost trade-off and the needs of the firms and its customers by providing reliable quality distribution services at acceptance cost frank p buffa 2006.
The second key lesson is a relationship between the supply chain just in time and logistics performance. It is related to the article, it’s because the article talks about the relations of this term. JIT is in terms of at the right place at the right time. The relationship of these is supplier need to supply a raw material as soon as possible when the company are needed and it also affected the logistics performance. It is because if there are raw materials, are late supply it will affect the production system and the production cannot produce the product so it will affect to the logistics performance, like the product late delivery and can affect to customer satisfaction. So the supplier needs to supply raw material as soon as possible when the companies need a supply. The third key lesson is the benefit of supply chain integrations the good supply chain integration will lead the good performance of the companies suppliers. it the stakeholders that important for all the company without raw material that has supplied by the supplier the company cannot run their production, it also will affect the customer's reputations. The supply also gives information to the companies about the globalization of the customer's need and wants, also supplier will give information about the new technology. All companies need to have good relationships with the supplier. The fourth key lesson is inventory management as can see in the article that shows the relationship of the supply chain integrations, just in time and logistics. The inventory management is how the company manages the inventory in their productions line and warehouse, so if the supply chain integration is supplied the raw materials as fast as the company needed. The companies are easy to make productions by implementing the JIT system, they will smoothly manage the inventory very well.
JIT will control the production of how much the product should be produced and when it’s should be delivered and the logistics performance also important in delivering the product to the customer's demand. It means good relationships between the supply chain integration just in time and the logistics performance can lead the companies are good in inventory management control. The company no need to keep the inventory a lot and save the tax-saving 4 0. Suggestion. The suggestion to make improve the author's point in this article first is to improve the inventory management system. According to Dr C Eugine Franco 2017, The JIT inventory is to ensure early inventories to accommodate more requests and places to manage additional inventory. Manufacturers use the JIT process to meet the demand of distributors or retailers but not excessive. Retailers only want to meet customer demand immediately so as not to exceed the cost of storage and management. The list of seven wastes is the target for continuous improvement in the production process. They are Overproduction wastes. Eliminates by reducing setup time syncing quantity and time between processes compressing layouts' visibility and so on. Just do what it takes now Waiting time.
Eliminate by as much workflow synchronization as possible and uneven load balances by flexible workers and equipment. Waste transportation. Setting the layout to make unnecessary transport and handling if possible. Then rationalize the transport and handling of nonremovable materials. Self-processing waste. Expanding thoughts beyond scale or economic speed such as why this part or product should be created at all then why each process is needed. Waste stock Reduce by shortening the preparation time and reducing the advance time by streamlining workflows and improving work skills as well as by increasing demand for product fluctuations. Reducing all other waste reduces share wastage. Waste of motion. The study movements for economics and consistency the economy increases productivity and the consistency of improving quality. Waste make damaged product Develops a production process to prevent defects from being made to eliminate the inspection. At each process, it does not accept defects and does not create defects. For example. Toyota only keeps a small inventory at lower costs. This also means Toyota can quickly adjust to changing demand without worrying about expensive inventory disposal. The JIT concept used in inventory by Toyota shows that Toyota can efficiently use the inventory system. Secondly, suggestions for improving the author's point are learned and use technology from Japan for the implementation of JIT. According to James Macaulay, 2015 RFID technology can provide advantages in managing supply chains through better trueness and increased visibility of products and processes throughout the network. RFID technology can improve efficiency and speed up processes increase information accuracy and reduce inventory losses. This RFID can be used by the JIT system to prevent delays and companies can track the product in the process of delivering from suppliers to customers until reaching the destination in time Figure 2 Warehouse DHL Figure. 3 The delivery process to the customer, For example, According to James Macaulay Lauren Buckalew Gina Chung 2015 DHL is one of the companies that use RFID technology in their business processes. Based on figure 2 it shows the process in the efficiently managed DHL in the warehouse. The RFID technology is used to sort the goods according to the code contained in the box according to the destination of the goods. Based on figure 3 it shows the process delivery the good to the customer DHL can track the location of the delivered item to ensure the delivered item is safe to the customer. This indicates the level of safety used by DHL is high.
