326They are manipulative Both Macbeth and Banquo believed that they had control over their lives but when presented with prophecies that will become the future they feel the need to make it a reality as quickly as possible This is the Weird Sisters plan all along They told the prophecies to get a reaction and action out of Macbeth and Banquo They wanted to cause chaos and destruction After Macbeth is rewarded Thane of Cawdor he writes home to Lady Macbeth He tells her of the prophecies and of being king one day She then comes up with a plan to kill the king to take their place on throne At this point in the story it is believed that Lady Macbeth is in control since she is the mastermind behind the whole affair of killing King Duncan You don't want to cheat yet you want what doesn't belong to you There s something you want but you're afraid to do what you need to do to get it You want it to be done for you Hurry home so I can persuade you and talk you out of whatever s keeping you from going after the crown After all fate and witchcraft both seem to want you to be king 1 5 10 20 However when you look at later events Lady Macbeth doesn t have control over herself so she can't have control over anyone else Lady Macbeth is clinically insane
There is no possible way that she could come with the plot to murder King Duncan and be truly in control She goes insane and ends up killing herself Obviously with her dead she has no control over anything and especially not the events that commence after her death This is now at the end of Macbeth Macbeth still believes that he is in control of everything but The Weird Sisters hold everything They told him only what they wanted him to know not what he needed to know The Weird Sisters gave Macbeth prophecies of who to fear and when to fear but they confuse him with riddles and give him false hope They planned for him to gain power due to his ambitious ways and then to be killed due to his false pretence of control Macbeth then understands that you can't control life Life s but a walking shadow a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more It is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury Signifying nothing 5 5 24 28 This is the point when Macbeth realizes that he never had control That life and destiny is not something you can control or manipulate It's going to happen either way
