Tour to Dairy farm in Hassan Abdal Departure 26december transport office AAUR 8 00am Demonstration We were welcomed by Owner of dairy farm Mr Asad Ali khan and who has an experience of 30 years The administration started to guide us about cattles There were Holstein fresian Sahiwal jersey cholistani and dhanni bull breeds Cross breed animals are Friesian Sahiwal Jersey Sahiwal The crossbreed animals have 25 endogenous and 75 exotic blood Have a bull for draught purpose There are some heifers also but more number of calves There is a hay present in the store room which is used in case of fodder scarcity There are about 50 animals in which there is 6milking animals 2 pregnant animals last month 1 bull and 30 calves heifer most of them were pregnant Total milk production were 80litre per day and 3time milking were done there These animals are kept for enhance the productivity of farm Animal housing were 1 roof system and open house were also provided NO replacement strategy were there only culling is done after 4 lactation of an animal We were informed about the identification of breeds Production of Holstein Friesians are briefed is about 28 liters of purebred Cross breeds have production of about 30 liters Mortality at the farm is 2 3 



There are milking parlour and have milking 4 machines No use of oxytocin and bostin injection for milking Breeding strategy is to improve the genetic makeup Most common diseases are mastitis dystocia and heat stress Weaning is done at 6 8 months 9 months and 9 days is the gestation period Tail movement restlessness and off feed animals mounting are signs of heat Tagging is done for identification Maturity is gained in 22 24 months of age but in 18 months is also required There is only artificial insemination no sexual reproduction No grazing but only stall feeding Fodder and concentrates rations are giving at 10 of body weight Concentrate is given at morning and evening as per requirement CIDR technique in cattle for synchronize heat is also demonstrated Ecoflee spray and ivermectin were used there to controle external parasites Concenterate were consist of maize wheat bran molasses only All animals were fed the same feed there was no requirement base feeding system The management was very poor Hygienic condition were poor Dr Munib ullah told about the physical examination of the animal for diagnosis of a diseases how to take temp pulse respiration rumen motality LDA RDA left right displaced abomasam and weather test Refreshment Refreshment were done at the end of demonstration which were managed by class C R

Departure We departed from the farm at about 3pm and reached at university 6pm 2 KOONT FARM Departure 1 2 january 2018 8 30am from transport office AAUR Demonstration on livestock farm NO OF GOAT 60 70 CATTLE almost 10 Buffaloes 15 Calves 7 8 Bull 1 donkey 1 Mare 1 Feeding based on concenterate silage and hay in goats browsing is also done Hygienic was very poor 1st jan Dr Asghar khan When we were arrived at farm sir Asghar khan demonstrate about the physical examination in sheep goat The method of blood collection from goats and cattles I n the physical exam the method of tenp taking pulse taking respiration taking LDA RDA rumen motility and palpation of different lymph nodes of the body prefemoral lymph node prescapular lyphnode and parotid lymph node How to restrain an animal and the method of blood collection in catttle and donkey also the different anesthetic techniques in calf and anesthetic injection sites Dr Imran On the 2nd day Dr Imran demonstrated about the age estimation of different animals mostle sheep goat cattle The restraining of animals and age determination by dentition for different animals Hoof triming was also done there of a goat
