What Triggered World War 2 Hello my name is and today I will be talking about the factor that triggered World War 2 WW2 was one of the most devastating wars in history with the most amount of casualties 50 to 80 million D Day being one of the biggest naval air and land invasions in history and the only war in history to use atomic weaponry I believe that the main factor that triggered WW2 was WW1 I believe that it was not just the Germans fault but also the allies in my opinion the allies limited Germany so much they were forced to fight back The Germans lost WW1 which resulted in them signing the treaty of versailles which limited their army to 100 000 men an extreme reduction in land by giving Alsace Lorraine back to France and demilitarization in the Rhineland No air force was allowed only 6 battleships as well as taking the blame for starting the war otherwise known as Article 231 or war guilt clause furthermore they had to pay a huge amount of money due to reparations around 6 billion The unemployment rate was at an all time low at around 30 in 1932 which was caused by hyper inflation the devaluation of money the US dollar was worth four trillion two hundred and ten billion five hundred million marks

Although all of this was happening the political takeover in 1933 of Germany by Hitler and the Nazi Party and its aggressive foreign policy was starting which was one of the vital factors to causing the war Hitler was seen as Germany s savior and that he would bring justice to the motherland the people of Germany were not pleased by the treaty of versailles and the country went into depression as previously mentioned and the Americans funding Germany assisting with paying its reparations but also went into depression in 1929 France invaded the Rhineland because there was a lack of payment in reparations so in turn they stole resources Imperial Japan is also partly to blame for WW2 this is because of their militarism imperialism and invasions on China and Manchuria in the 1930s They are furthermore to blame for the continuation of WW2 because of their attack on pearl harbour in 1941 hoping that such a vicious attack would frighten the US into staying neutral Also because of their attacks on South East Asia which made Australia and New Zealand nervous due to their aid to the British A huge amount of blame should be on the Germans whose government was a totalitaristic dictatored one party state Not only did they provoke their army even after the treaty said not to they also claimed the Rhineland which was strictly forbidden in the treaty

Furthermore they invaded Poland Norway Denmark the Netherlands and France all within 9 months Fall 1939 Summer 1940 They used a very efficient tactic called the blitzkrieg which was a combination of troops tanks and massive use of air power to support infantry movements They used this tactic to roll over the countries that were previously mentioned and it was extremely effective they then concentrated on Great Britain Although no invasions took place choosing instead to attack it with massive air strikes the battle of Britain was a duel between the Royal Air Force and the Luftwaffe the RAF denied total control of British airspace but the Germans kept bombing Britain in what s known as the Blitz In 1941 the Nazis invaded Russia breaking a non aggression pact that the two powers had signed in 1939 this hugely escalated the war and made allies of the most powerful capitalist countries America Britain and the most powerful communist one Russia In conclusion I believe that the main factor that triggered WW2 was WW1 due to the misconception of events that took place prior to the war such as the treaty of versailles Germany invading Poland in 1939 Japan's invasions on Manchuria China etc Any questions In your opinion what policy in the Treaty of Versailles caused Germany to possibly trigger WW2 I believe that it was

2 things the first being that Germany had to much pride so when the allies forced them to sign article 231 or war guilt clause they were publicly embarrassed The second thing is the main reduction in land because back then land was a sign of power and the more of it you had the more powerful and the more influence you had over more people so with Germany having taken from them the heart of their country the Rhineland which was vital Do you think that WW2 would have been ever stopped earlier Yes when the Nazis were invading the Rhineland the French and British declared war on Germany but they decided not to do anything instead leaving them to claim the Rhineland This helped them invade Poland and then Norway and so on and so forth they only stopped Germany after the casualties had taken a toll on the population Do you feel that world war two was worse than world war one and that the allies got the peace settlement wrong Morally speaking yes WW2 was worse than WW1 there were more casualties in WW2 having around 50 80 million whereas WW1 having only 41 million which is nearly half Technologically though there were massive advancements such as the revolutionizing gas mask or the first computer ever built The bombe machine by Alan Turing I believe that the peace settlement was not adequate for the Germans but helped the allies strive
