Living in a golden age of digital era where the application of digital technologies such as cloud computing big data and social media has become an integral part of my life My enthusiasm for the digital world has been increasing after I read a book titled Leading Digital Turning Technology into Business Transformation by Westerman Bonnet and McAfee which fascinated me how leaders increase organisation s value through mastering the digital technology As there will be a massive demand for digital expertise in the future I believe to develop highly qualified management talents who have profound understanding in the information systems is becoming essential To prepare me with the solid academic knowledge I intend to pursue a graduate program in Management Information Systems and Digital Innovation at The London School of Economics and Political Science LSE During my undergraduate study at The University of Indonesia I gained valuable knowledge and practical experience in marketing human resources and finance studies The business information system course sparked my interest in the management information field as it demonstrated the importance of data processing and management to generate useful information for company operations Moreover quantitative based courses such as 

Cost Accounting Business Mathematics Business Statistics and Corporate Finance allowed me to apply analytical and problem solving skills through analysing and interpreting data to support the decision making process Besides I enjoyed courses that related to entrepreneurship innovation and expressed my interest by co founding the first student business incubator in my faculty My innovative idea got a very positive response as this was a new breakthrough in fostering entrepreneurship innovation spirit in the academic society Through this I learned the importance of working together as a team and implemented the business theories such as cost accounting and business strategies into a real life business as well as utilising the social media role particularly in the marketing strategy On the other side to balance my academic life with social activities I improved my leadership communication skills and broadened my international network by being the representative for my campus for a simulation of international United Nations sessions in Turkey and Japan Equipped with the knowledge that I have obtained during my undergraduate study I decided to join Deloitte Consulting Southeast Asia to fulfill my interest in digital related experiences Working in a global management consulting firm allow me to shape my analytical critical thinking communication skills by solving various clients problems This precious work experience gives me an opportunity to explore my passion and interest in information technology and systems as I assisted various clients which were mostly engaged in digital transformation projects which enable me to obtain the broad perspective and practical knowledge in the digital technology development Further I also deepened my knowledge in digital technologies by actively enrolling myself in Deloitte's global digital training 

This theoretical centered training honed my basic knowledge of future emerging key disruptors in industries such as blockchain technology robotic process automation cognitive computing and cloud computing which allowed me to recognise how these could increase an organisation s value and efficiency Furthermore seeing my enthusiasm in digital technology industry my supervisor entrusted me to contribute a research on the publication named Technology Media and Telecommunications Predictions 2017 Southeast Asia Edition I worked collaboratively with colleagues from wider Southeast Asia region and wrote a section in the increasing trend of IT as a service ITaaS where generally the growing adoption of ITaaS in Southeast Asia has been fueled in part by the need of cost optimisation After having acquired the basic understanding skills and work experience in the field of information systems it is essential that I combine my background with further education in management information systems to give me a unique competitive advantage in order to solve the challenges in the future workplace This led me to apply to a graduate degree of Management Information Systems and Digital Innovation at The LSE My primary objective to undertake this programme is to have a deeper understanding about the concepts of information management from the academic perspective Courses such as Innovation and Information Systems Concepts Perspectives and Global Strategy Management and Information Systems surely will be able to provide me the best theory and global practice of information systems coupled with LEss resources in scientific research 

What excites me more is the one week Bootcamp group project where the students will not only obtain the theoretical knowledge but also will be encouraged to start the practical experience In addition I will enrich the discussion by sharing my practical knowledge based on my work experience in digital projects and the digital transformation trends in Southeast Asia All of this knowledge can be applied in my home country as I aspire to become one of the technology professionals and plan to involve in digital transformation journey in Indonesian companies or governance bodies As the UK is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world it will be the perfect country example to obtain the right knowledge especially on the successful case study of UK Digital Government GOV UK as a world leader in e government Lastly my work experience and my background study cannot truly shape my mastery of all the advanced technology skills to generate insights from an information systems perspective I sincerely hope to continue my study in Information Management Systems and Digital Innovation in The LSE to support my long term plan as well as my contribution to the wider society
