As a teenger she leaves home for good When Lily leave with Rosaleen Rosaleen assault some white men and later gets arrested for it T Ray later came for Lily but left Rosaleen When T Ray threatens Lily and tells her that her mom left her she packed her things up and left to go break Rosaleen out of Jail When Lily came to get Rosaleen she had had to sneak past an officer which was easy since he was distracted because he was talking to one of the nurses Walking in Rosaleen was the only one there noticing that she had a bandage on her head the size of a diaper she asks what happens Rosaleen tells her Two of them held me by the arms while the other one hit me the one with the flashlight He said Nigger you say you re sorry When i didn t he came at me He hit me till the policeman said that was enough They didn t get no apology though It is crazy how bad racism was back than the two men had no right to assault Rosaleen the way they did Now that Lily got to Rosaleen they had to break out so she checked the halls were clear as she checked the officer jumped up saying You weren t supposed to be their She replies Don t i know it I m looking for my aunt but there s a colored woman in their he says You re lost alright You need to go to the other side of the building You re in the colored section She then went to the pay phone and asked for the nurses station in the colored wing Once she picked up she said she was the jailer s wife and ordered for the policemen to head back to the station Now that there were no officers they took of Wow Just reading the first two chapters of The Secret Life of Bees Lily is very brave for a teenager Half the things she has done i would have never attempted
