NoplagDocs

Desktop app

Install Noplag for macOS, sign in, check documents by drag and drop or watch folder, and keep the app updated.

The Noplag desktop app wraps the full product in a native shell with desktop-only conveniences: drag-and-drop checking, a watch folder, native notifications, and automatic updates.

Install and sign in

Download from noplag.com/download. Currently available for macOS on Apple silicon; Windows and Linux builds are planned.

Open the DMG and drag Noplag to Applications. The app is signed and notarized — macOS may ask you to confirm the first launch, but you should never need to bypass Gatekeeper.

Sign in with your normal Noplag account — same email/password or Google/Microsoft sign-in as the web app. Your checks, folders, and settings are the same everywhere.

Checking documents

  • Drag and drop a file onto the app to start a check.
  • Watch folder — point the app at a folder and it checks new documents as they appear. Useful for a downloads folder or a submissions drop.
  • Scanned documents — the desktop app can OCR scanned PDFs before checking, which the web app can't (a scanned PDF without a text layer fails in the browser).
  • Results land in the same report view, and a native notification tells you when a check finishes so you can leave the app in the background.

Updates

The app updates itself: when a new version is downloaded you'll see an in-app bar with an Install & Restart action, and updates also install on quit if you dismiss it. "Check for Updates" in the app menu forces a check at any time.

Troubleshooting

  • Stuck or signed out? Quit fully and reopen; the app retries authentication automatically.
  • A file won't check — the same input rules as the web app apply (PDF / DOCX / TXT, up to 10 MB); OCR handles scanned PDFs.
  • Include the app version (in the app menu) when contacting support.
