Running a check
The three ways to submit text — paste, file upload, or URL — plus input limits and what happens while a check runs.
Three ways to submit

Paste directly into the check form — up to 500,000 characters (about 80,000 words), minimum 50 characters. Best for drafts, excerpts, and anything you have on the clipboard.
Limits
Your plan sets the words counted per check and checks per month — Free covers up to 2,500 words per check; see Billing and plans for each plan's limits.
Give the engine something to work with
Very short inputs make weak checks: a sentence or two rarely carries enough signal to match meaningfully. A few paragraphs is the practical minimum.
While the check runs
Checks run in the background — you can leave the page. Progress is shown per stage, and the dashboard's recent list updates when the result lands. Reports are usually ready in 30 to 90 seconds; very long documents take longer.
After it finishes
The report opens with your similarity score, sources, and highlighted passages — see Reading a report. Every check you run is kept in your history until you delete it.
